There is a lot of talk about income inequality coming out of the left in this country, especially during this election season. Bernie Sanders in particular is leading that pack, but I don’t hear anyone talking about what is actually causing income inequality and the decline in the standard of living in America.
All I hear is how we need to end freedom while at the same time we need to make everything ‘free’ like healthcare and education. My question to people who want free healthcare is: how are you going to do that? I thought we just made it more affordable and now suddenly it needs to be completely ‘free’? To those who want ‘free’ college education, my question is: how did you perform during your ‘free’ high school? We already have a ‘free’ college program, it is called the G.I. Bill, the only problem is you have to serve your country first…kind of a total downer, I know.
Whenever a politician tells me something is ‘free’ I hear the word ‘three’ meaning how it will actually be paid for: taxes, debt and inflation. That last word you just read right there, inflation is the key to america’s decline in living standards. Rich people love inflation, it makes it much easier for them to use leverage on their assets, it further increases the gap between the rich and the poor and it is the biggest cause of income inequality because of the way wealth transfers to the richest people out of the hands of the middle class and working poor. Inflation is the surest sign of a decline in living standards and it has been known for thousands of years as a guaranteed path to human misery.
In The Economic Consequences of the Peace, John Maynard Keynes wrote: “Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the capitalist system was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method, they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some…As the inflation proceeds and the real value of the currency fluctuates wildly and from month to month, all permanent relations between debtors and creditors, which form the ultimate foundation of capitalism, become so utterly disordered as to be almost meaningless; and the process of wealth-getting degenerates into a gamble and a lottery.
Lenin was right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of the destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.”
Guess who loves inflation? Socialists, Progressives, Liberals. Socialists have this wonderful capacity to control the money supply, while at the same time making it more available to the rich and directly causing income inequality in order to complain about it so that they can argue for further socialism. Government intervention on the creation of money, (also known as socialism) through central banking is the cause of inflation. Bernie Sanders is little more than a Judas goat, leading lambs to financial slaughter. Socialism is directly the cause of income inequality and my book PANIC! will prove that to you.
The greatest way to combat ignorance is with knowledge. The fastest way to gain knowledge is by enjoying it and that is why I wrote an instructional satire, I will make understanding economics and how wealth transfers cause income inequality fun and enjoyable.
